For those readers who noticed my last two posts — simple pictures with simple text — those are the result of the new blogging service called Posterous.

I’ve been looking for a way to integrate interesting links, images and videos into my blog without the runaround of a full-fledged post. That way when my faithful readers (I’m looking at you, Murph) what to comment on a link, they don’t have to atach it to whatever blog post happens to be at the top of the list.

So there’ll be a lot more drivel here over the next little bit. But you will be able to comment on it.

Enjoy.

From the Washington Post comes this hilarious exposé of Hillary’s experience in Bosnis, which she describes as being on the edge of the warzone, in constant fear of sniper fire. Sinbad, who along with Sheryl Crow, accompanyed the First Lady claims there was no tension, other than wondering where they were eating next.

In her Iowa stump speech, Clinton also said, "We used to say in the White House that if a place is too dangerous, too small or too poor, send the First Lady."

Say what? As Sinbad put it: "What kind of president would say, ‘Hey, man, I can’t go ’cause I might get shot so I’m going to send my wife…oh, and take a guitar player and a comedian with you.’"

Well, I got entirely sick of my site design.

So in order to give myself a break from seeing the guy with the old outboard motor I decided just to park the site under Chris Pearson’s fabulous Cutline theme, just until I get a chance to redesign.

It’s going to be another Cottage-inspired design, once I get around to it. I’m just trying to collect some inspiration about how to have a site that really suggests Old Muskoka. The last one was a reference to the old National Geographic magazines that are found at every summer place, complete with ads for Evinrudes.

But I need some fresh Cottage elements. Wooden boats, sunsets from the dock and … what else? What are some of the iconic elements that really define the cottage experience?

Leave your suggestions in the comments!

"Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolor disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Let’s laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against lonliness in a quiet American suburb."

The campaign for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States of America has now entered what can be described as the Silly Season. (Those were Obama’s words in one of the debates.)

Hilary Clinton is running fear-mongering ads suggesting that only she is capable of answering the "Red Phone".

As if there are no advisors, no military strategists, no diplomats in the Oval Office when that phone gets answered. Just one, lone, tough Leader. This is the problem: an overemphasis on the dictator and an underempahasis on the democracy. Leadership is about listening, consensus-building, a respect for the enemy as much as a fear of him.

Put Obama in there. He’s ready. Ready to listen, ready to act—ready to lead.
