And the carrot goes to…

The 78th Academy Awards are on and, in spite of how much I like Jon Stewart, they’re boring me to tears.

So checking my blogs, I noticed that the Bunnies have been at it again. For a couple of years now I’ve been following an animated series that I find hilarious. They describe themselves as

A troupe of bunnies parodies a collection of movies by re-enacting them in 30 seconds, more or less.

Turns out that they’ve been busy while I wasn’t looking and really developed a deep library.

They’ve just released their Brokeback Mountain version. I haven’t seen the movie, but now I’m wishing they had one for each of the Best Picture nominees.

Hilarious.

If it weren’t for the parade of fashion that still characterizes the Oscars it sure wouldn’t seem like much of a celebration anymore. Might almost be able to hand them out online and skip the broadcast.
Thought it was a safe and somewhat subdued event last night. Would almost be nice to see a producer opt for a retro production number to start off next year’s show. Might be risky, but I think the stars & the audience still expect it to be like New Years Eve or the Grad Prom. They want a little bit of…no, make that a lot of, tux renting, gown revealing show biz glitz to hang their industry on once a year.

If nothing else, I miss the glitzy production numbers that Bill Crystal did as an homage to glitzy production numbers.

They seemed to think that Stewart’s wit would be a suitable replacement for old Hollywood razzle dazzle.

I think the rabbits should create an Academy Awards in 30 seconds.
